I wasn’t always a terribly optimistic person.  I was not a “look on the bright side” type of girl.  Then something happened.  I don’t know if it was that switch that clicks on when you hit a milestone age, and survived, or maybe I just found myself surrounded by a fantastic group of people that just made me feel better about things.  I realized that your own happiness is something you create and not something we are owed. I do my best to keep that with that frame of mind, to remain motivated and inspired by my present and my future. I have a fantastic husband, a wonderful group of friends and a list of goals I’m determined to achieve.  It also helps that I have found myself as part of a community of talented, supportive, and amazing individuals!

The best way for me to stay motivated, stay positive, is to surround myself with people I find inspirational.  The last week of March, I got to attend the Inpsire Photo Seminars and my time there was incredible and just reinforced my passion & desire to start my business.  Inspire is a 3 day long event for photographers with workshops and seminars, one night even had a night of Karaoke! You KNOW this girl was all about it!

The beauty of Inspire is the community that is built between workshops.  It’s meeting photographers from all walks of life, at all levels of their business, sharing ideas, strategies and cultivating relationships.   I went into Inspire a little confused and overwhelmed and left with a clear mind and a plan of action!

Inspire was that, inspiring.  Trying to remain optimistic, Inspire came at a time when I needed that extra push to keep me going and stay on track.  I needed to feel the support of a community around me, I needed the guidance of mentors with years of experience and find that there were others like me out there.

The entire Inspire Dream Team did a fantastic job organizing the event and creating a real sense of community.  All the speakers were fantastic and I walked out of all the workshops with pages upon pages of notes!  I had a great time chatting with my mentor, Leah Haydock (she also took my fabulous!) & left our meeting feeling empowered and prepared to put her advice into action.  I can not wait until next year and I can’t wait to catch up with all the friends I made my 3 days there.   Thanks for the lessons, laughs and inspiration!

Now since this is a photo blog here are some photos I took at one of the workshops I attended at inspire taught by Raw Photo Design.
